兎「うさぎ」[oo-sah-gee] (with a hard G sound as in Gate) is the Japanese term for rabbit or bunny. The zodiac or "earthly branches" feature a rabbit among them (some people are born in the "year of the rabbit") and its symbol is 卯 (pronounced う [oo]). The zodiac symbol almost looks like 2 rabbit's ears. 🐰
